The Asian American Scholar Forum (AASF) works to ensure a seat at the table for the Asian American scholar community to represent and communicate the community’s concerns. We accomplish this through strategic partnerships, education, and bridge-building.

AASF convenes high-level dialogues with the White House, federal agencies, academic institutions, and community leaders. We ensure that the scholar community is equipped with essential knowledge on compliance and policy, while engaging with policymakers to provide them with crucial subject matter expertise and the unique perspectives of the scientific community.

We engaged our communities and Congress on critical issues including warrantless surveillance, bills that would inhibit research participation, and proposals to reinstate the China Initiative—efforts that received nearly 43,000 views. Notably, AASF led a coalition of nearly 50 organizations to successfully advocate against the reinstatement of the China Initiative.

AASF was formally voted in as a new member of the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA), a coalition of the country’s oldest and most influential AANHPI non profit organizations. NCAPA has well-established credibility with the federal government, media, civil rights groups, and communities nationwide. We fill a crucial gap of academic and scientific expertise within the Asian American civil rights and non-profit space, and take on this critical responsibility.
