In Science Magazine Letter, Asian American Organizations Urge US Government to Embrace International Collaboration Over Racially Biased “China Initiatives”

Today, the Asian American Scholar Forum (AASF) joins the Society of Chinese Bioscientists in America, the Chinese American Hematologist and Oncologist Network, and the Chinese Biological Investigators Society in a letter published in Science Magazine that raised concerns about widespread investigations of Asian American and immigrant scientists under what science policy reporter Jeffrey Mervis has called the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) “China Initiative.”

AASF Co-Signs NCAPA Letter on Race and Ethnicity Standards

On April 27th, 2023, AASF joined over a hundred local and national organizations in co-signing the following letter from the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA). The letter was submitted to the White House Office of Management and Budget on the need for data disaggregation and data equity for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.
